[ Ash put the camera down so he could appear in front of it. He sheepishly ruffled his hair. ]

[ Ash couldn't help chuckling, putting an arm around Diarmuid. Diarmuid folded his arms but clearly smiled back. Ash turned to the camera again and Diarmuid followed his gaze, noticing Ana. He hadn't met her before so bowed his head to her in greeting. ]

Here, thanks for everything Noct. I had no idea he was waiting for me to be ready in a way!

[But he's laughing as he says it because he adores Macavity and T-Pain is just a hilarious thing.

Ana tilts her head at the attention she's getting from Diarmuid, still for a moment before she bows her head back in a return greeting.]

It's nice to meet you.

[Noct glances down at her when he hears her make noise, surprised that she's actually engaging another Pokemon. Well, hey, it was progress at least!

His attention goes back to Ash and he smiles warmly.]

You don't need to thank me, Ash. You did it yourself!

[ Ash laughed. Well, of course Diarmuid would know! He basically lives with em! ]

I mean, you're the one who said I could be part of the Kingsglaive and all!

[ Diarmuid spoke to Ana respectfully. ] And the same to you. My name is Diarmuid.

Yeah but anyone would have said it. You'd have to be blind not to see how awesome you are, Ash.

[He thinks the world of you. Seriously.

Ana relaxes a bit, motioning to herself.]

I'm Ana. What does it mean to be a knight?

[ Ash ruffled the front of his hair. God, you really know how to praise a guy, don't ya? ]

Maybe. But you're the person to actually say it. And I mean...not many people have said that kinda thing to me, so it means a lot.

[ Diarmuid placed a hand on his chest as he described knights and knighthood. ] To be a knight is to protect those who cannot protect themselves. The ill, the weak, the young; those who would suffer injustice from people who hold greater power than them. But there is a code of conduct among most knights, to act with honour and to extend that honour to who-ever you face in battle.

Well, you're welcome. And I meant every word of it, just in case you had any doubt.

[Seriously, Ash. You are a lot more amazing than you seem to realize. Guess he's just going to have to remind you constantly.

Ana is quiet as she listens, absorbing every word with fascination. There's a gleam in her eyes--a determined one--and she gives a firm nod when the other finishes.]

Can anyone be a knight if they work hard enough?

Can't really doubt ya when you talk so confidently, can I? Just remember that you're every bit as awesome. Cos it wouldn't mean shit coming from someone else.

[ As Ash huffed out his nose a little bashfully, Diarmuid nodded back to Ana, noticing that glint. ]

Of course. All that matters is that one acts in the manner of a knight, and does their best to be fair and just in all parts of their life. I can see...you would make a fine knight, if that is the life you choose.

[Noctis shrugged, getting a bit embarrassed himself now.]

I appreciate the sentiment, Ash.

[In his lap, Ana curled her claws into a fist.]

I will do my best! I'll be as good a knight as you! I'll be fair and honest and protect my family and others!

[ It helped that they had their Pokemon to distract them from each other's praise then! Ash raised a brow as Diarmuid spoke to Ana again. If he couldn't understand Pokemon-speech, he understood Diarmuid's telepathic words. ]

I have no doubts! Should you ever wish to receive training or to discuss more...or to simply talk, I would be happy to hear from you, Ana.

[Yeah it was definitely a good thing because Noctis was not good at this sort of thing.

He gently ruffed Ana's head, earning himself a squeak out of her.]

What are you two talking about, huh?

[The Sneasel rumbled at him before looking at the 'gear again and nodding to Diarmuid, resting a clawed paw over her heart.]

I'll definitely stay in touch, Diarmuid. Thank you!

[ Ash grinned ] I think you got yourself a squire there.

[ Diarmuid ignored Ash and returned the gesture. ] I look forward to it, and to when we shall meet in person.

A squire, huh? I'm just collecting all sorts of new Kingsglaive members.

[It's said in a teasing manner but he may be partly serious too.]

Likewise.

[And when they did meet in person, Ana was going to be a proper knight! Just you wait!]
