Met at Lake of Rage (level 37) | March 25th, 2018 Regained at Forever-and-a-Day Ranch | September 14th, 2018 While on a date to Lake of Rage with Ash, Noctis was of course fishing his heart out and it was no surprise that he landed a Magikarp--but it was a surprise that this particular Magikarp was shiny. Noctis was so stunned that he almost dropped her back in the water but managed to hold onto her thanks to Bean's intervention, the Snorlax scooping the golden fish up in a paw and holding her close as her trainer just stared.
And then promptly went crazy with excitement.
Officially named Mac Lir by Ash, this golden fish is an absolute little darling that seems to be quite pleased to be with Noctis and company. She loves to cuddle up to anyone that will let her close and is curious about everyone that's apart of her new team. She's already met the Gyarados gym team but Noctis can't wait to get her home so he can introduce her to the entire Karp Squad.
Mac Lir was one of the Pokemon that Noctis reunited with after his return to the Pokemon world and she's been a pretty constant companion to the prince ever since. While she is a constant reminder of Ash, she's also a reminder of the good times he had in the world before and is helping him rebuild his Karp Squad which helps keep him focused on the good times rather than the sad times. She and Leviathan have a strong bond with one another now and act as the leaders of the growing squad, paving the way for each new comer and showing them just how amazing it is to be apart of this family!
While visiting the Seafoam Islands and trying to find the source of the mysterious, sad song that was haunting the caves, Mac Lir finally evolved in an attempt to help her trainer find the distraught Pokemon. Now a Gyarados, she's stronger than before and more capable than ever.
