Character: Noctis Lucis Caelum | thenightsky Badge/Gym Leader: Zephyr Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Bean (lv. 38)
Battle Details: Starting off against the Noctowl, Bean is going to immediately use Defense Curl to boost her own defense followed by Screech to lower her opponent's since she doesn't have anything that's super effective against Flying types. From there she's going to use Body Slam twice in a row in order to take this bird out of the game.
At the start of the next round Noctis is going to use a potion on Bean to be on the safe side, since she is the only Pokemon he's got in this race. Afterwards he'll have her use Screech again to knock the Honchkrow's defense down some before using her third turn to strike with Surf.
Once the Honchkrow is down and their final opponent is out, Noctis will use a Hyper Potion he bought this time before having Bean use Screech twice in a row this time for a double hit to the Pidgeot's defense stat. Saving her strongest move for the Pidgeot, Bean's going to use Hyper Beam against the final bird foe in hopes of taking it out with one shot.
Character: Noctis Lucis Caelum | thenightsky Badge/Gym Leader: Thunder Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Bean (lv. 48)
Battle Details: Right out of the Pokeball Bean is going to be using Defense Curl to boost her own defense stat, allowing the Electabuzz to get a move off before she retaliates with a Bulldoze. If that by itself isn't enough to finish it off, Noct will have her use a Body Slam to knock it out of the battle so they can move on to the Magneton.
At the start of the next round Noctis is going to use a Hi Potion on Bean to restore her HP, allowing the Magneton to get a hit in before Bean uses it's Ground weakness to her advantage and uses Bulldoze just like she did against the Electabuzz. If for any reason she needs to add an extra assault in, Return will be used to finish the job.
Last but not least is the Raichu. Using Defense Curl again to boost her own stat, Bean will follow this up by Hyper Beam, keeping the Raichu from being able to attack it's next turn and giving Bean a chance to finish it off using, you guessed it, Bulldoze.
Character: Noctis Lucis Caelum | [personal profile] thenightsky Badge/Gym Leader: Soul Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Floof (lv. 80)
Battle Details: Giving Bean a well deserved break, Noct is going to break out the real heavy hitter of his team for this gym: Floof the Bibarel.
Against the Crobat, Noct is going to have Floof start off with a good old fashioned Defense Curl just to be on the safe side since the Crobat is probably a bit faster than Floof, before launching into a full blown assault against the other Pokemon. He's going to hit the other with Rock Smash first before following it up with Charge Beam to knock the other out of the sky. (Take that you flying foe!!)
For the Ariados they aren't going to waste any time at all before frankly, Noct can't stand bugs and giant spiders are kind of the worst (next to giant bees) so he's going to have Floof go all out with Return first, which is going to be amped up due to the Bibarel's affection towards the prince, followed by a good old fashioned Hyper Beam.
Sorry Ariados...
Last but not least Floof will face off against the Venomoth (MORE BUGS WHY) and it's..really just going to be a repeat of the match before it, the prince having Floof go hard. He's going to have him hit first with Rock Smash then end it with Return to wipe the bug out, leaving no wiggle room for that gross flying demon of a bug to get away!! (Wait this isn't Eos...)
Battle Details: Despite Leviathan wanting to decimate this gym, Noct opted to let the tag-team duo of Quay and Nyx take a shot at it.
Quay will take the lead, facing off against the Magcargo to start. She's going to start off with Baby-doll Eyes, just to lull her opponent into a happy daze before launching her assault with Surf. If necessary, she'll follow this up with a fabulous Bubble Beam to finish her opponent off.
She'll swap out with Nyx for the next battle, letting the Frogadier take on the Magmortar. Unlike his teammate, Nyx isn't going to waste anytime playing with his opponent and is going to get right to business, using a combination of Water Pulse and Waterfall to knock the fire type out.
For the last battle, Nyx is going to stay in to start, launching an assault with Water Pulse at the Rapidash before being swapped out to allow Quay the chance to finish the other Pokemon off. Utilizing her Hidden Ability, the Popplio is going to use Echoed Voice--which is now a water-type move--and blast the Rapidash with a double assault of a haunting, watery attack in honor of her brother and his favorite style of music!
Character: Noctis Lucis Caelum | thenightsky Badge/Gym Leader: Volcanic Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Nyx the Greninja (lv. 64) Quay the Primarina (lv. 68)
Battle Details: REMATCH!
Their loss the first time around spurred Nyx and Quay to work their butts off in training over the course of the past month on the island (and during their attempt to help an injured Lapras) so they're back and ready to kick some butt!!
Quay is going to lead just like last time but instead of playing cute and innocent she's not holding back. She's going to start off with Hyper Voice, blasting the Magcargo with some righteous hard rock screams that just so happen to be water powered now since Liquid Voice turns all sound based moves into water type! She'll follow this up with a hard hitting right on some waves with Surf, showing that she can be a real sea witch as she unleashes her fury on her opponent to take them out.
The pair will switch out here, Nyx taking point against the Magmortar again and starting off with Water Shuriken this time. Whether it hits two or five times, it won't matter because that's just the warm up as Nyx follows that up with a quick Water Pulse to hopefully damage and confuse the other Pokemon then another Water Shuriken. To round it all out the Greninja will end it all with Dive, giving the Magmortar at least a chance to feel that things may be okay before sneak attacking from below to take it out.
When the Rapidash comes out Nyx will swap out this time, allowing Quay to take the lead for this final battle. The Primarina is going to use Echoed Voice just like the first time they tried this gym, the haunting melody powered as a water attack thanks to her hidden ability. She'll use it again, the move growing stronger the second time around before she'll launch into her final assault with Sparkling Aria, shattering eardrums and dousing the Rapidash to put a real damper on the other's day. Sorry friend.
Badge/Gym Leader: Plain Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Highwind (lv. 50) Ana (lv. 72)
Battle Details: Ana is going to come out first in this battle, taking on the Girafarig and using it's weakness to Dark types against it. Noct is going to have her start off with Dark Pulse right out the gate and with her significant level advantage over her opponent, if that doesn't take it down the prince will honestly be surprised. If need be, he'll have Ana use Night Slash to finish it off for sure but honestly it should go down pretty easy.
For the Clefable, Noct is going to switch Ana out for Highwind who will use his Poison typing against the Clefable. Highwind will use Poison Tail first then follow it up with Toxic, Noct not wanting to give the Clefable an inch if he can help it. If they need to, he'll have Highwind finish it off with Sludge Bomb to do a lot of damage all at once and knock the Clefable out of the match.
And last but not least comes to the Miltank. Noct is going to switch Ana back in for this one and basically just use brute force against the other Pokemon. The prince will have his Weavile use Hyper Beam for the sheer force of power and follow it up with Dark Pulse for another good blast of sheer power. Once again Ana's sheer level advantage should make this an easy win for her.
Badge/Gym Leader: Mineral Badge Elite/Regular: Regular Team Team: Kotetsu (lv. 57) Mac Lir (lv. 59)
Battle Details: Kotetsu is going to take lead against the Skarmory given the iron bird's weakness to fire. Fire Fang will be his first attack, hitting the other Pokemon hard and fast before following it up with Flamethrower to add more pain to what he's already done. This should take the Skarmory out but another round of Flamethrower will be used if need be.
The Charmeleon is going to stay in for the next round, facing off against the Magneton and once again use it's fire typing to it's advantage. They're evenly matched for level but his fire attacks will play in his favor and Kotetsu is going to hit hard and fast as Noct will have him use Fire Spin first to trap the other Pokemon in a vortex. If need be he'll end it all with Inferno should the Fire Spin not be enough to take the other Pokemon down in the end.
Now comes Steelix. While Kotetsu has an advantage here is well he's much weaker than the other Pokemon which is where Mac Lir comes in. The Gyarados has an advantage as well with her typing so she's going to take on the other Pokemon and assault it with a barrage of Surf and Hydro Pump. If necessary Aqua Tail will be used to finish the other Pokemon off should that combo of attacks not be enough.
