Trainer name: Noctis Lucis Caelum Trainer ID: #20162911 Journey start: February 20th, 2017 Assigned poke-class: Trainer Current location: Olivine City Travel companions: n/a Current job: Dishwasher at Red Clauncher Extended information:Here
Wearing: A collar with a Gyaradosite set in it Markings: Tail fin is torn up from a fight. Holding: NeverMeltIce
Met on Route 30 (level 3) | March 5th, 2017 This headstrong little guy was the very first Magikarp Noctis ever caught in the Pokemon world. He put up quite the fight despite his low level and even after being reeled in got in a good slap to the face before Noctis was able to get him in a Pokeball. Since then the pair have had a friendly rivalry of sorts and Noctis adores this little guy so, so much. Stick, or Leviathan as he would come to be known, was curious as to why the Prince wanted him around and soon came to realize that Noctis seemed to just enjoy the water and everything in it. That won Stick over and he began to listen to his trainer more and more, eventually working his fins off so he could level up and eventually evolve.
Becoming the first of Noct's squad to evolve, Leviathan made sure everyone knew that it was something special. He happily accepted the HM Surf and uses it proudly, taking Noctis on rides whenever he needs to travel across the water. It's because of him that many of the other Karp Squad members have continued to train and evolve as well and also why the Squad has continued to grow. A lot. Not only does the squad include other Karp and Gyarados but it includes various other Water Pokemon as well, Leviathan welcoming any as long as they don't try to challenge his rule.
Leviathan eventually became smitten with Noct's newly acquired Feebas, Aqua, and the pair are inseparable. Where he is the king of the Squad she is his Queen and all members listen to her just as much as they do him. (And she is one of the few that can put him in his place.) Leviathan has also won himself a place as one of Noct's core battlers and will also head the team of all Gyarados against the Blackthorn Gym when Noctis finally takes it on.
Magikarp ♂ | Cake OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 39 Type: Egg group: N/A Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Serious ; likes to thrash about Moveset:Splash, Tackle, Flail
Wearing: Markings: Has paler fins than normal Holding:
Met on Route 30 (level 2) | March 5th, 2017 An overly serious Pokemon, Cake doesn't have time for any sort of nonsense. He's the one that keeps everyone on task and focused when something serious is going on and is the first to swim away when others start playing around. He sticks close to Leviathan when the boss Gyarados is around, acting as one of his right fin Pokemon and doing whatever the other may need him to do. He's also the enforcer Karp, keeping all of the other Magikarp in line while the Gyarados are handled by another. He can get a bit temperamental, especially when he doesn't get the respect he deserves, but he's quick to compose himself and move on.
For now Cake has opted not to evolve, content to stay a Magikarp for the time being. It allows him to stay small and quick and honestly he just doesn't have much interest in battling. He prefers to keep everything together at their home base in Olivine.
Wearing: Markings: Has a dark orange spot on his head. Holding:
Met on Route 30 (level 2) | March 5th, 2017 Mog is a bit of a hippy fish. He loves to just float along with the tide and can usually be found decorating himself and others with pieces of seaweed when he can find pieces that work. He gets along well with every member of the Squad and adores people. He's the first to swim right up to Noctis and into his arms, cuddling up to their trainer without any hesitation because who doesn't love pets? He's another member of the squad that has opted not to be an active battler, taking on a support role. A cheerleader really.
One thing Mog has shown himself to be really good at is taking care of little ones. Several of the pairs in the Squad have had eggs and Mog has happily played babysitter for the little ones time and time again. Uncle Mog is everyone's favorite and more often than not you can find any of the young Squad members swimming about with him and learning about their home.
Wearing: Markings: Has freckles on his belly. Holding: Magnet
Met in Violet City (level 14) | March 28th, 2017 Dumpling is a fish that really doesn't understand why Noctis kept him around. He's just not all thta special and really there are Magikarp that are way better than him out there. Yeah. He doesn't have a whole lot of self confidence and it's been a work in progress since Noctis caught this little guy. It's taken the better part of a year for Noctis and the other members of the Magikarp Squad to boost up Dumpling and help him realize his potential and overall worth as a member of the Squad, encouraging him to train with the others despite his initial reluctance. (Because what was the point? Everyone else was so much better..)
Lo and behold though Dumpling became one of the Magikarp Squad members that evolved after Leviathan did and boy was he surprised! He didn't seem to know how to handle his new form at first and his appetite, which was already insane as a Magikarp, was even moreso as a Gyarados. So he ate. A lot. So much that Noctis had to finally cut him off and took some time to sit with him and talk to him, calming him down and reassuring him that this was all a good thing. Eventually everything clicked into place and Dumpling began to really flourish in his new form, so much so that he's apart of the team Noct is training to take on the Blackthorn Gym, specifically specializing in Electric and Ground type moves.
Wearing: Markings: Has faint spotting on it's belly. Holding: Charcoal
Met in Ecruteak City (level 16) | April 23rd, 2017 This little guy legitimately swam right into Noctis's lap while the prince was swimming in Ecruteak. Both were startled and the end result was Cast being caught and added to Noct's growing Magikarp Squad. It turns out that Cast is a bit of a day dreamer, always wondering what it would be like to fly high above the clouds or dig deep below the Earth. He's a fish that wants to be more than what he is; he wants to be where the other Pokemon are!
Despite his oddities Cast did show interest in training, at Leviathan's prompting more than anything, and ultimately trained hard enough that he was able to evolve. Now a Gyarados, a lot of the things he'd always wanted to do were available to him and oh is he ever thrilled! He's a modest dragon, though, and always defers to Leviathan if people need something of him, a trait that ultimately made him said Gyarados's second in command in the Karp Squad. He takes it pretty seriously, when he isn't lost in thought, and does his best to make Leviathan and the others proud.
As a member of the Blackhthorn Gym team, Cast has been working hard to perfect the use of Fire type moves in order to give him a bit of a surprise advantage over his opponents.
Magikarp ♀ | Wasabi OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 31 Type: Egg group: N/A Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Hardy ; often lost in thought Moveset:Splash, Tackle, Flail
Wearing: Markings: Two-tone orange and white Holding:
Met in the National Park (level 12) | June 10th, 2017 A hardy little thing that was caught during the freak events of the rainstorm that brought along Magikarp with it. This little girl was chilling out in a puddle day dreaming about mega-evolutions and being able to fly when she suddenly found herself caught by Noctis. She struggled at first and tried to flop away after breaking out of the Pokeball once but she ended up caught and was won over by the other members of the Karp Squad because, honestly, who wouldn't be? He eventually ended up with several other patterned Karp and Wasabi has formed a close bond with all of them. (They've all collectively agreed to not evolve and stay just as they are so they can keep their patterns forever.)
Wasabi ended up falling head over fins in love with Ginger, another of Noct's acquisitions during the freak rainstorm, and the pair are single-handedly responsible for the increase in Karp Squad members over the past few months. Seriously Noct has no idea how many members there are anymore and Wasabi really isn't sure how many kids she has but she loves all over them and she loves her Ginger beau!
Wearing: Markings: Gray with diamond markings Holding:
Met in the National Park (level 10) | June 10th, 2017 A no-nonsense Magikarp, Plaid put up the biggest fight when Noctis attempted to catch him resulting in the prince getting covered in mud and eventually just tackling the fish. It wasn't until later that a Pokeball was actually offered and Plaid made the choice to go along with Noctis because if the guy was willing to get covered in mud to catch him, he had to be a determined and strong trainer. Since then Plaid has settled in quite well with the Karp Squad, not an overly engaging fish but he has formed a bound with Cake since neither of them are fond of the clownish, goofy antics the others get up to sometimes.
He's a rather serious trainer as well and while he has no intentions of involving he does plan on being the first Magikarp in the Squad to hit level 100 one day. It's probably going to take him awhile but you better believe that he'll get there and splash his way to victory when the time comes.
Magikarp ♂ | Chopstick OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 24 Type: Egg group: N/A Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Quiet ; likes to run Moveset:Splash, Tackle
Wearing: Markings: Brown striped Holding:
Met in the National Park (level 12) | June 10th, 2017 A very skittish fish, Chopstick was found by Bean and tempted to stay because of how gentle the giant Pokemon was towards him. He was extremely wary of Noctis at first and the first few times he was let out of his Pokeball he attempted to run away but he's settled in a bit better now. (Particularly because he's good friends with Ravus the Wimpod.) It still takes a very gentle hand to interact with him and when the Gyarados in the squad are training he usually hides in the thick seaweed beds near their home turf but he's gotten a lot less skittish while he's been with them.
Like the other Patterned Karp he's decided to stay just like he is and honestly it's probably for the best. (A giant Gyarados trying to hide under and behind things would not end well.) He, in general, doesn't like to battle or train, either, and is content to just swim about and make pebble artwork near the shore for people to admire.
Met in the National Park (level 9) | June 10th, 2017 Ginger is the sweetest fish you will ever meet! He actually jumped Noctis and co during the freak fish storm back in June and after a rather hilarious battle he allowed herself to be caught. He loves to swim around with the other Pokemon and can make even the most serious of the team bend to his will given the chance. He's just a genuinely good natured individual that will do whatever he can to make others feel good about themselves.
A lot of his affection and love has been channeled, as of late, towards Wasabi who is the love of this fish's life and he wants to make sure the world knows it. If people could understand him they would know he was constantly singing love songs to Wasabi, ignoring the protests of some of the more serious squad members in favor of acting the fool. He's in love and he's going to show the world! They have a hoard of children that he constantly showers with affection and takes them on outings whenever he can to explore new areas of the Olivine Waterways.
Magikarp ♂ | Whale OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 11 Type: Egg group: N/A Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Gentle ; somewhat of a clown Moveset:Splash
Wearing: Markings: Orange orca; larger than normal Holding:
Met in the National Park (level 11) | June 10th, 2017 Whale is probably the biggest Magikarp that Noctis has ever seen. He's not fat; he's just BIG. That combined with his patterned helped Noct decide on his name and the big guy seems quite content with it. Despite his size Whale is a really gentle fish, quite the cuddler when given the chance and always the first to comfort others if something is wrong. He's always ready to nuzzle up to others or swim into a lap if he can though his size can make it a big uncomfortable sometimes.
His gentle nature aside Whale is a bit of a clown and tends to put on little shows for the younger members of the squad, goofing around with shells and pieces of seaweed, doing twists and flips in the water and frankly just being a giant fool. He loves to make others laugh and that, to him, is far better than battling and training.
Wearing: Markings: Orange, black and white calico Holding:
Met in the National Park (level 10) | June 10th, 2017 The last of Noct's Magikarp from the freak fish storm, Cid is a rough and tumble fish that refuses to stay down. She wasn't easy to catch and Noctis wasted a lot of Pokeballs on her but the prince eventually wore her down enough to get her into a Pokeball. Even after being caught, though, she tends to break out of her Pokeball just because she can and usually at the worst times possibly--really just to be a bit of an asshole. She's one of the bravest members of the Karp Squad, hands down, and will be the first to get in the face of anyone that threatens a fellow member and try to run them off.
She's made the choice not to evolve, just like the other Patterned Karp, though if any of them break that vow it will definitely be Cid. Time will tell if her resolve breaks or not.
Wearing: Markings: Has two white spots over each eye Holding: King's Rock
Met in Violet City (level 12) | July 18th, 2017 Pasta was caught while Noctis was taking a break after work and doing some fishing. He had just reeled her in when a Pidove swooped in to try and steal the fish, resulting in a battle and two new Pokemon. Pasta is pretty super timid as it is and the Pidove attack didn't help much so it took the combined efforts of all members of the Karp Squad to get her to calm down and learn to trust Noctis. Eventually Noctis sent the Pidove on his way, realizing that having him around wasn't helping Pasta's state of mind any, and since then she's shown a lot of improvement.
So much so, in fact, that she ended up evolving after guidance and careful training from Leviathan and Cast. Now a member of their unit, she is specializing in Poison, Steel and Dark moves in preparation for the Blackthorn Gym, doing her best not to take too many naps when she should be training. But it's really difficult. Seriously, just one more nap guys. Please?
Wearing: Markings: Has two dark blue racing stripes down her sides Holding: Lum Berry
Met in the Safari Zone (level 20) | October 19th, 2017 This fish is an absolute asshole. Noctis had been trying to be good. He hadn't intended to catch another Magikarp, really! But then this fish had to go and mess with him while he was wandering through the Safari Zone and it turned into a game of cat and mouse--though he's not sure if he was the cat or the mouse in the game--before he was finally able to catch her.
And, well, he caught her so he might as well keep her, right?
Stirfry is an impish little thing that loves to cause trouble which means she's going to get along fetchingly with Noctis Jr.
Wearing: Markings: Is very fat. Seriously. Holding:
Met in Celdaon City (level 15) | January 19th, 2018 So Tub was a bit of an accident. Noctis had seriously been fishing just to take his mind off waiting for the results of the contest while Quay played in the water. But then he hooked something, something huge, and fought with it for a solid ten minutes before he was able to reel it in.
And Arceus said let there be Tub.
Tub is, without a doubt, the fattest Magikarp that Noctis has ever seen and boy is she sassy to boot. She doesn't seem to have time for anyone's crap and will smack you in the face with her tail so fast you won't know what hit you. She has quickly earned the respect of the rest of the Squad and she is usually the go to if any of them have an issue and need advice.
After hearing about Noct's plan to take an all Gyarados team to Blackthorn City, Tub made it clear that she would be the one filling the final slot and has been actively training with the rest of the chosen team, working hard towards evolving so she can prove herself a competent battler.
Magikarp ♀ | Mac Lir OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 37 Type: Egg group: Water 2/Dragon Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Gentle; highly curious Moveset:Splash, Tackle, Flail
Wearing: Markings: She wants to SHINNNYYY~ Holding:
Met at Lake of Rage (level 37) | March 25th, 2018 While on a date to Lake of Rage with Ash, Noctis was of course fishing his heart out and it was no surprise that he landed a Magikarp--but it was a surprise that this particular Magikarp was shiny. Noctis was so stunned that he almost dropped her back in the water but managed to hold onto her thanks to Bean's intervention, the Snorlax scooping the golden fish up in a paw and holding her close as her trainer just stared.
And then promptly went crazy with excitement.
Officially named Mac Lir by Ash, this golden fish is an absolute little darling that seems to be quite pleased to be with Noctis and company. She loves to cuddle up to anyone that will let her close and is curious about everyone that's apart of her new team. She's already met the Gyarados gym team but Noctis can't wait to get her home so he can introduce her to the entire Karp Squad.
Magikarp ♂ | Lucha "The Fin-isher" OT: Noctis Caelum Level: 20 Type: Egg group: Water 2/Dragon Ability: Swift Swim Nature & Characteristic: Brave; proud of it's power Moveset:Splash, Tackle
Wearing: Markings: Orange mask variant Holding:
Met on Three Island (level 20) | April 22nd, 2018 After the event that was Prom, Noctis decided to explore the islands a bit since it was his first time visiting them. Though anyone that knows the prince was probably well aware that he had a destination in mind: Three Island and the Magikarp Breeder that lived there. Noctis was beyond excited to meet the man and was more than happy to help him out--for a solid three days in a row. At the end of his stay on the island Noctis had bonded with one Magikarp in particular and thus Lucha joined the team.
This little fish has a lot of guts isn't afraid to take on anyone that dares to challenge him. He has big dreams to be the roughest, toughest wrestling Gyarados this side of the Pokemon World and it's for that reason that a certain wrestling trio has happily adopted this little guy into their ranks. Dubbed "The Fin-isher" by Kitty and her crew, Lucha is determined to perfect his flops and slams so that no one is able to walk out of the ring once he's done with them!

☽ Whale the Magikarp
Magikarp ♂ | Whale
OT: Noctis Caelum
Level: 11
Type:

Ability: Swift Swim
Nature & Characteristic: Gentle ; somewhat of a clown
Moveset: Splash
Wearing:
Markings: Orange orca; larger than normal

Met in the National Park (level 11) | June 10th, 2017
Whale is probably the biggest Magikarp that Noctis has ever seen.
☽ Cid the Magikarp
Magikarp ♀ | Cid

Nature & Characteristic: Brave ; capable of taking hits

The last of Noct's Magikarp from the freak fish storm, Cid is a rough and tumble fish that refuses to stay down.
☽ Pasta the Gyarados

Met in Violet City (level 12) | July 18th, 2017
Pasta was caught while Noctis was taking a break after work and doing some fishing.
Please?

Met in the Safari Zone (level 20) | October 19th, 2017
This fish is an absolute asshole.
☽ Tub the Gyarados

So Tub was a bit of an accident.
☽ Mac Lir the Magikarp
Magikarp ♀ | Mac Lir
OT: Noctis Caelum
Level: 37

Egg group: Water 2/Dragon

Nature & Characteristic: Gentle; highly curious
Moveset: Splash, Tackle, Flail
Wearing:
Markings: She wants to SHINNNYYY~

Met at Lake of Rage (level 37) | March 25th, 2018
While on a date to Lake of Rage with Ash, Noctis was of course fishing his heart out and it was no surprise that he landed a Magikarp--but it was a surprise that this particular Magikarp was shiny.

Met on Three Island (level 20) | April 22nd, 2018
After the event that was Prom, Noctis decided to explore the islands a bit since it was his first time visiting them.
